Bowen is home to a multi-million dollar fruit and vegetable industry. In additional to the fruit and vegetable crops three large scale seedling nurseries in Bowen Shire supply fruit and vegetables seedlings locally and throughout Queensland.

Bowen Backpackers has an excellent reputation with the local farmers and together with some of the best farms in the area, we can provided a fun and profitable experience for all.

It is our responsibility to the farmers to ensure all workers tending are of the hard working variety as they expect a fair days work for a fair days pay. The farmer may refuse to allow you to work if you are not dressed appropriately or
Ill-equipped for the days work. Therefore we have compiled a list of basic equipment needed when going to work.
